The Beginning...
Patulika grew from my artistic journey, for years— slowly taking shape alongside my work, until its scattered fragments began to reveal a world of their own. The name Patulika came from my son when he was very little. A child's word,
born from that mysterious place where language, imagination and intuition still mingle freely. I kept it because it seemed to carry something I could not quite name: something childlike, yet strangely ancient; playful, yet wise, wild, mysterious and wonderfully unpredictable. It felt like the name of a creature, a place, perhaps even a small world waiting to be discovered. And so Patulika began to grow.
A world somewhere between the visible and the unseen, where imagination becomes landscape, creatures become companions, and objects carry stories. Patulika is an Otherworld existing somewhere alongside our own — timeless,
yet touched by the present. Its visual language carries traces of the baroque and the fantastical, mixed with the modern and transformed through my own way of seeing, dreaming and making. Its portals open through imagination
and intention.
Why Soulmade?
Soulmade is more than handmade.
Handmade describes the hand that creates. Soulmade speaks of where a creation comes from.
The objects of Patulika begin as visions, feelings, creatures, fragments of stories — something half-seen that asks
to become real. Through my craft — a personal alchemy of intuition, imagination, material, colour and intention
— they cross the threshold from the unseen into the tangible.
The hands become the portal. The material becomes the language.
Each piece is a small fragment of Patulika, carrying something of its energy, atmosphere and intention into our world.
Soulmade is the art of making the invisible tangible.
The Lore Continues...
Patulika is not a finished world.
The Patulika Realm grows and changes with every new work, every creature that appears, every story that reveals itself and every portal that opens. Its lore will continue to unfold here, little by little — for Patulika is still becoming.
Mila Issaya est une artiste plasticienne diplômée de l'ENSAD (Enterprise Design and Arts and Design). Formée à Paris, où elle a vécu et travaillé pendant plus de vingt ans, sa pratique artistique englobe le dessin, la peinture, le collage, le bijou et objets d'art et la sculpture, témoignant d'une approche polyvalente
et exploratoire. La forme et la matière sont au cœur de son travail. Voyageuse dans l'âme, elle a parcouru le monde, notamment lors de longs périples à vélo, s'imprégnant de paysages variés, de cultures diverses et de rencontres humaines authentiques. Ces expériences nourrissent subtilement son langage visuel,
ancré dans l'intuition, la mémoire et une observation constante. Son œuvre oscille entre exploration personnelle et dialogue artistique plus large, se déployant souvent à travers l'expérimentation de matériaux et de procédés. Parallèlement à son travail en atelier, elle anime des ateliers
axés sur l'expression créative et la découverte.
